Chem chapter 10 and 11 Flashcards » Study with Quizlet and memorize flashcards containing terms like Which of the following compounds is expected to have the HIGHEST boiling point? CH3OCH3 CH3CH2CH3 CH3CH2OH CH3CH2CH2CH3, The freezing point of helium is -270°C. The freezing point of xenon is -112°C. Both of these are in the noble gas family. Which of the following statements is supported by these data? The London dispersion forces between the helium molecules are less than the London dispersion forces between the xenon molecules. As the molecular weight of the noble gas increases, the freezing point decreases. Helium and xenon form highly polar molecules. The London dispersion forces between the helium molecules are greater than the London dispersion between the xenon molecules., Order the interparticle forces (dipole-dipole, London dispersion, ionic, and hydrogen-bonding) from weakest to strongest . dipole-dipole, ionic, London dispersion, and hydrogen-bonding London dispersion, dipole-dipole, hydrogen-bonding, and ionic hydrogen-bonding, di Quizlet.com

Plasmonic properties of gold nanostructures on Hf-doped ZnO film and its application for refractive index sensing with a high figure of merit » This paper reports a systematic study of the plasmonic properties of periodic arrays of gold nanoparticles in contact with a novel transparent conducting oxide (TCO) material - Hafnium-doped zinc oxide (HZO). Resonant coupling of the grating diffraction orders with the propagating surface plasmons along the waveguide film, which can generate large field enhancements, are investigated by FDTD simulations. By tuning the ratio of Hf dopants to ZnO film, the plasmon resonances can be tuned and narrower resonance with FWHM of 2-5 nm are observed. Such plasmonic substrates are shown in this study to have high figure of merit in refractive index sensing applications. Opg.optica.org
